The first thing you should try is to restart your iOS Device. Hold the Sleep/Wake Button pressed for a couple of seconds and then swipe the slider that appear on the screen to turn of your device. After your device is completely turned off, hold the Sleep/Wake Button for a couple of seconds to turn it on.

Also, try to clean the Touch ID Sensor with a dry cloth and then try again.

Step 1: Unlock your device and launch the Settings App.

Step 7: After your device is turned on, go and enable the passcode again and then add the fingerprints.

Note: Before adding new fingerprints, please read these tips:

  1. Clean the Touch ID Sensor with a dry cloth.
  2. Never tap and remove your finger quickly.
  3. Put your finger on the Home Screen Button so it is fully covered.
  4. Make sure that your case or cover doesn’t cover the Touch ID Sensor.
  5. Make sure your finger and Touch ID are dry and clean.
