We all know that Apple has released its latest flagship device, called iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple says that they are the best smartphones in the market and are running the most advanced mobile operating system, the iOS 10.
Running the most advanced mobile OS means that both these phones are packed with a lot of features, including hardware and software ones.
Apple has made a lot of internal changes to its iOS 10 apps, including a redesign and new features for different apps such as the Messages App, the Maps, the Photos app, the Music App etc.

But Apple has not changed only the software of its device but has made some drastic changes on the outside parts of the phone. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have both a new camera, removed antenna lines and a completely new home button. The Apple has removed the traditional iOS’s devices home button and has replaced it with just a programmed Touch ID with Force Touch which acts like a home button when you try to press it.
With this big change, a lot of other things have changed. One of them is the way you put your phone into DFU Mode or Force Restarts your iPhone.
iPhone is just a machine and sometimes it stop responding and you have to Soft Reset it in order to make it work again.
The traditional way for years was to hold down the home button and you had to combine the pressed home button with some other external buttons and the force restart was performed but not anymore.
With the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus no longer having the Home Button, there is no way you can press the “force-touch” enabled home button when your phone is stuck.
So, there is a new way to perform a force restart and to enter your iPhone into DFU Mode. Both these are essential parts of any troubleshooting process, so it’s recommended to know them.
So, I am going to show you How to Force Restart iPhone 7 and How to Enter iPhone 7 into DFU Mode.
How to Force Restart iPhone 7
In order to force restart iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you just press and hold the power button and the down volume button simultaneously for about 8-10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears on your screen.

For all the folks who don’t know what DFU Mode is or for what do you need it, then you can read this article.
As you already may know, the DFU Mode is another process which requires pressing the Home Button to activate it. But without the home button on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, here is the new method to activate it:
1. Plug your device into your computer using the lightning cable and open iTunes.
2. Now, press and hold the power button and the volume down button simultaneously until the display goes dark.
3. After your screen goes black, you can release the power button but continue to hold down the volume down button until a pop-up appears on iTunes saying that your iPhone is in Recovery Mode.
Note: If the screen is still black, then you are actually in DFU Mode, not Recovery Mode. If you see still an Apple Logo or a Connect to iTunes Logo, then you have to begin again to step 1 because you goofed up the steps.
If you have successfully entered into Recovery Mode, then you are ready to perform a clean install to the latest iOS Version.
If you want to exit the DFU Mode after this process, all you need to do is to hold down the power button and the volume down button for a couple of seconds until the Apple Logo appears and your device reboot.
